With the sketchbook turned upside down, Turner has recorded a sailing boat with buoys (inscribed ‘Morning [or Mooring] on the B[altic]’). With the sketchbook turned horizontally he has rendered a distant headland in two instalments, inscribed ‘Greifswalder[...]’ which refers to the town of Greifswald on the Baltic.
