A distant view of Ulm (inscribed) is at centre (see Tate D29907, D29915–D29918, D29932–D29934, D29940–D29946; Turner Bequest CCXCVIII 47a, 51a–53, 60–61, 64–67), with a squared-off view of a town inscribed ‘Berkheim’ at bottom left. The village of Berkheim in Baden-Württemberg is some thirty miles south of Ulm. At the top of the page Turner has inscribed a series of numbers relating to currency and possibly distances:
‘10 M[...] 2 Florins, 60 [...]

The artist has also drawn a woman at a window, parallel to the gutter of the sketchbook and inversely relative to the other sketches.
