These are four views of the Uttewalder Grund in Saxon Switzerland. Two of the sketches show the Teufelsküche (‘Devil’s Kitchen’), looking towards the town of Stadt Wehlen and the view in the opposite direction. The inscriptions ‘‘W[...] | OW’ and ‘Tuforstu[...]’ refer to Teufelsküche. See also Tate D31006–D31007; Turner Bequest CCCVI 62–62a.
