This page contains four sketches of views within the Maurienne valley in Savoy. The precise locations have not been identified although the top study depicts a bridge and the bottom scene includes a house or a church. Turner’s drawing style is rather rough and schematic suggesting that he was working at speed in challenging conditions and from a moving vehicle.
