This page contains four distinct landscape sketches. As Cecilia Powell identified the central two vistas depict Florence seen from the north-east, on the road to, or at, Fiesole.1 Further sketches from Fiesole can be found on folios 30 verso, 31, 74–78, 79, 84 (D16542, D16543, D16608–D16616, D16618, D16627). The remaining two studies are not conclusively identified but appear to represent villas on the slopes of the Fiesole hill from the River Mugnone.
