These sketches, rendered with the book turned upside down, are successive depictions of a view of Arundel Park and Castle in West Sussex (see Tate D18418; Turner Bequest CCX 63). The drawings are associated with Turner’s watercolour designs for W.B. Cooke’s Rivers of England, in particular Arundel Castle on the River Arun (Tate D18140; Turner Bequest CCVIII G). 1
