Finberg briefly describes ‘Turner’s labels’ on the ‘back’, i.e. the spine (D40703) and ‘face of cover’. This might seem to imply separate paper labels pasted on (as indeed is the case with the spine), but there is no evidence of one here, the single word ‘Nelson’ transcribed by Finberg being written directly onto the cover.
