Turner filled this page with sketches of buildings in a hilly landscale. In his 1909 Inventory of the Turner Bequest, A.J. Finberg suggested that these were taken at Isigny-sur-Mer based on a semi-legible note by Turner towards the top left-hand corner of the page, which may record the name of the River Vise which runs through the town.1 The artist filled several pages of the present volume with studies of town on the Normandy coast, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction for comparison.
