Drawn with the page turned horizontally, this records the view north to the Lakeland hills from the old Ulverston to Lancaster coaching route across Carmel Sands, near its eastern landfall for Holker and Cark. The leftmost hills are the Coniston Old Man group, and those at the centre right the Helvellyn/Fairfield group. The bluff in the centre middle distance is Barker Scar, and the bluff terminating the view to the right that of Holker Park.
