With the page turned vertically, there are various overlapping studies here of skylines, trees and a distant spire, probably made while travelling through inland France. See the sketchbook’s Introduction for the many slight unidentified landscapes and coastal views scattered through it.
Technical notes:
There is some brown staining at the gutter, possibly indicating water damage in the 1928 Tate flood.
