Blind-stamped lower right with Turner Bequest monogram
Inscribed by John Ruskin in red ink ‘44’ bottom left, descending vertically
Stamped in black ‘XXXVIII 44’ bottom left, descending vertically
Finberg proposed that this is a view of Snowdon from Capel Curig, but this seems unlikely. The present tentative identification is due to the contemporary North Wales artist Jeremy Yates.1
