The Cathedral at Mainz is depicted from the east, with the seventeenth-century Haus zum Römischen Kaiser at right. This building is now the Gutenberg Museum, exhibiting the revolutionary work of the Mainz-born inventor of mechanical movable-type printing, Johannes Gutenberg (1398–1468).
