Continued from folio 27 verso (D25577) with the sketchbook inverted is a sketch of a lake surrounded by mountains which are reflected in the water, perhaps Derwentwater, though other possibilities have also been raised. It is uncertain what Turner intended to signify by several ‘x’ shapes at the water’s edge.
