In this quick sketch, made with the page turned horizontally, Turner has apparently noted the view from near Llanberis looking south-west across Llyn Padarn towards Moel Eilio. It may have been made shortly after the two studies on folios 19 verso and 20 recto (D02023–D02924), after he had come down from the slopes of Elidir Fawr and made his way across the isthmus between Llyn Peris and Llyn Padarn, on which the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle stand. He drew these on folio 21 recto opposite (D02026), where the numeral ‘1’ indicates that the two views are continuous.
