Parallel to the gutter of the sketchbook are two sketches rendered inversely to the view of the Sendlinger Tor. A hilly landscape is at left and the Karlstor, also part of Munich’s medieval fortifications, is at right. ‘Carle Thor MK’ is inscribed.
