With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled this page with an easterly view long the riverside at Nantes. A small sketch of the towers of the cathedral is also included at the centre of the top edge of the page. The pages of this volume feature many depictions of Nantes, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction.
