The slight sketch on this page shows a view from New Brighton beach, at the north-east corner of the Wirral peninsular, with New Brighton Lighthouse and Fort (see folio 4; D25768). To the left of the lighthouse are a steamboat and a sailing boat (as in folio 2 verso; D25765).
The sketch continues on folio 5 (D25770) which shows the beach and cliffs in the foreground. Further sketches of Liverpool are on folios 1 verso–7 verso (D25763–D24775) of this sketchbook.
