With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled much of this page with studies of the architectural ornamentation of the Tuileries and Louvre palace complex on Paris’s right bank. One the corner pavilions of the Palais de Tuileries is worked into the top of the page overlapped by the alternating pedimented and segmental window architraves of the Louvre’s Grande Galerie just below.
