Inverted in relation to the sketchbook as foliated, the drawings on this page depict the settlement at Parnay in the Loire Valley. The top sketch has been identified as a westerly view of the chirch and the study in the lower half of the page as an easterly view of the same subject.1 Several pages in this volume feature the buildings of Parnay; a list of these drawings is included in the sketchbook introduction.
