Turned horizontally, the page features two closely related riverfront views. Both show Dordrecht from around where the Beneden Merwede river forks into the Oude Maas (Old Meuse) and the Noord. The Grote Kerk stands to the south-west down the Oude Maas beyond trees towards the right in the more detailed lower view; the cupola of the Groothoofdspoort (see under folio 48 verso; D18934) is in the foreground beside the entrance to the Wijnhaven in both, being seen from slightly further west in the smaller sketch at the top right, where the church is not included.
See under folio 47 recto (D18931) for other views in and around the city in this book and elsewhere, many of which feature the Grote Kerk.
