This is a study of the interior of the Franziskanerkirche or Franciscan Churchin Salzburg. Dating to the eighth century, its Romanesque and Gothic interior was redesigned by architect Johann Fischer von Erlach in the eighteenth century. Erlach’s High Altar, rendered in red marble and ‘Gold’ (inscribed), is depicted at centre. Figures can be seen congregated in the nave before the altar and in an aisle at right, where a ‘Confess[ion]al’ stands. ‘[...] [...] Very Light’ is inscribed at bottom centre, with two illegible inscriptions ‘V[...]’ ‘W[...]’ at either side of a pier at centre.
