This view of Salzburg Cathedral and Hohensalzburg Fortress beyond was taken from a room in the Höllbräu, an old brewery and inn on the Judengasse, the city’s Jewish quarter. To the right of the view Turner has also attempted to inscribe the days of the week in German:
‘Montag
Vinstadt
Mitvor
Donostag
Fristag
Samstag
Sontag.’
