These finely wrought views show the Moselle valley between Trittenheim (inscribed ‘Drittinhim’) and Dhron (‘Tron’), with the town of Neumagen at centre. Turner notes that the atmosphere was ‘misty’ in the sketch of Trittenheim. For similar drawings see Tate D19744–D19751, D19753–D19756; Turner Bequest CCXVI 98–101a, 102a–104.
