The outlines of Ehrenbreitstein fortress at Coblenz are rendered in the upper and central registers (see Tate D29664; Turner Bequest CCXCVI 34a). The sketch close to the gutter of the book is part of a view of Cologne, which extends onto the folio opposite (Tate D29679; Turner Bequest CCXCVI 43).
