Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Despite Turner’s inscription ‘Strada della Fontana’ (Road of the Fountain) in the bottom right-hand corner of this partial sketchbook page, the location for this view is currently unidentified. It appears to show a villa or other building supported by arched substructures amidst a hilly landscape.
