The Turner scholar C.F. Bell annotated Finberg’s 1909 Inventory entry (‘Buildings – “St. Trinite.”’): ‘Junction of 2 canals gateway of Arsenal on the left’.1 Turned horizontally, this part of the double-page view is limited to a continuation of the top of the campanile of San Martino, near the Arsenale, as shown on folio 71 verso opposite (D32061), under which the subject is discussed, along with Turner’s inscription there.
