Cecilia Powell has identified this sketch as a view of Frascati from the Villa Aldobrandini (also known as the Villa Belvedere). Clearly visible are the two towers flanking the façade of the Cathedral, the Basilica of St Peter the Apostle. Turner drew the vista again on the next two double-page spreads, see folios 30 verso–31, and 31 verso–32 (D15352–D15353 and D15354–D15355).
