Turner Bequest CCLXIII 5
Inscribed in red ink ‘5’ bottom right
Blind-stamped with Turner Bequest monogram towards bottom centre
Stamped in black ‘CCLXIII – 5’ bottom right
The sheet is folded vertically about 40 mm in from each side. These strips at the lateral edges are largely blank, apart from colour tests along the left margin and at the bottom right, so Turner may have folded them back to adjust the proportions of the composition.
Blank; stamped in black with Turner Bequest monogram above ‘CCLXIII – 5’ bottom left; inscribed in pencil ‘CCLXIII.5’ bottom right.
