As in adjacent sketches in the sketchbook in its present foliation, the subjects here are surely drawn from Richmond Hill. At upper left is a detail of the horizon, the ‘W’ presumably indicating Windsor, visible from the hill in clear weather. At right there is a glimpse of the trees on the slopes running down to the Petersham meadows.
