The uppermost sketch shows Kaub dominated by the Burg Gutenfels. Pfalz toll castle can be seen at right, on a river island close to the banks of the Rhine. Kaub and its churches are depicted in the view below, with the Pfalz at right again. The sketch at rear is shows Burg Gutenfels. See Tate D29721; Turner Bequest CCXCVI 64a.
