This sketch, continued on folio 22 verso (D25804), may, as Finberg suggested, be of Ullswater.1 The view would therefore be from the foothills of Arnison Crag to the south of the lake, from which we look over Glenridding at the left with the shoulder of Birk Fell and Place Fell on the right.
