Bearing outlines of a castle and stepped fortifications similar to those of Lewes Castle on previous pages (folios 7 recto and 8 recto, for example; D35273, D35275), this view appears to be taken from a position below the castle mound, with only the upper part of the tower visible above the hill and possibly a sketch of the mound’s steep side at the right.
