Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Turner’s inscription ‘Espdaletti’ seems to be a phonetic rendering of Ospedaletti, a town on the Ligurian coast between Bordighera and San Remo. With the page turned horizontally, the vista looks west towards Bordighera on the far left-hand side.
