For Utrecht in this sketchbook see folio 22 verso (D13038) and the recto of this leaf (D13119). With the page turned horizontally, this quick sketch of buildings, a bridge and the Domtoren (the tower of the Domkerk or cathedral) in the background was probably made at the Weerdpoort or Amsterdamse Poort, the northern gate through which Turner must have entered the city on 8 September 1817. For another view of the gate, see folio 64 verso (D13111; CLXII 61).

There is a small tear in the centre of this leaf.
