This sketch looking out to sea at the Bass Rock from the cliffs near Tantallon Castle was drawn with the sketchbook inverted and continues on the opposite page (folio 30 verso; D13508). This page, framed on the left by the cliff edge of Gin Head, shows the Bass Rock about a mile off the East Lothian Coast.
