The sketch at the top of this page is of Roslin Castle surrounded by wooded hillsides with Roslin Glen and the North Esk River in the foreground. The view is very similar to a sketch on folio 39 (D13525), and extends slightly to folio 39 verso (D13526). Behind the castle on a hill to the left is Roslin Chapel. At the bottom of the page is the continuation from folio 39 of a slight sketch of distant mountains, and part of a building from another sketch (see folio 39 for more information).
