The sketches of a castle drawn across this page and folio 20 (D25561) have not been identified with any certainty, though they somewhat resemble Brougham Castle near Penrith, which Turner sketched in the Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border sketchbook (Tate D25833; Turner Bequest CCLXVI 37). Part of the difficulty in identifying the sketches is that the three or four sketches across the double-page-spread overlap with each other and it is not certain whether the sketch at the right of the present page continue on folio 20, or if that is a separate drawing.
