The three, or perhaps four, sketches across this page depict views near the small Cumbrian town of Brough which Turner passed through on his journey between Penrith and Barnard Castle in County Durham. At the top of the page is a rough sketch of Fox Tower, drawn more carefully opposite on folio 34 (D25589). Beneath this are two further sketches both drawn with the sketchbook inverted; one may show a view of Brough Castle (see folio 36; D25593), the other a view of distant hills.
