Apart from the building at the right of the page, this sketch is rather obscure; in fact it may be several drawings overlaid. The shape is reminiscent of a pier or harbour wall suggesting that this may be a sketch on the coast, perhaps at Berwick-upon-Tweed which is well covered in this sketchbook (see folio 13 verso; D25665).
