Continued at the left on folio 19 verso (D25798), this sketch has been identified as a view of the southern end of Derwentwater from the eastern side of the lake around Calf Close Bay. 1 This half of the sketch depicts the mountains to the south-west of the lake called the Derwent Fells. This sketch is one of several that Turner made of Derwentwater in this sketchbook: folios 18 verso–22 (D25796–D25803).
