This panoramic view across two pages (continuing on folio 22; D25803) depicts Derwentwater in the Lake District, and was made from the eastern shore of the lake near Lords Island. The island is in the centre of the sketch with Catbells Fell beyond it. At the left on the present page is the southern end of the lake, framed at the left by the shoulder of Castlerigg Fell with Falcon Crag. At the right is the distant peak of Blencathra.
There are further sketches of Derwentwater on folios 18 verso–22 (D25796–D25803).
