This first sketch of Mayburgh Henge, continued on folio 25 (D25809), was made from the east. It looks over the circular earthwork mound with its single stone towards the Cumbrian mountains in the west, with what may be the Helvellyn range at the left and Blencathra, Bannerdale and Bowscale Fell to its right. At the left of the present page are several buildings along the banks of the River Eamont between Eamont Bridge and Yanwath.
For further sketches of the earthwork see folio 26 verso (D25812).
