With the sketchbook inverted, a rough sketch of a ruin on a mound above a river bank has been identified as part of Roxburgh Castle (see folio 36 verso; D25989; CCLXVII 36a). There is a very similar, but slightly more detailed sketch on folio 37 verso (D25991; CCLXVII 37a) and further similar views on folios 37 (D25990; CCLXVII 37).
