Continued from folio 30 verso (D27019) is a sketch of the Upper Falls of Foyers, with Mr Fraser of Foyers’s bridge over the River Foyers. The view looks east across the bridge to the pool and weir at the top of the Upper Falls. The bridge is depicted again on folios 40 and 40 verso–41 (D27033, D27034–D27035). A sketch on folio 31 verso (D27021) was made from the bridge.
Turner visited Foyers during a scheduled stop on his steamboat journey north up Loch Ness towards Inverness (see folio 40 verso; D27034 for references).
