For Cockermouth Castle and Turner’s views in this sketchbook see Introduction. As these still seem to be the north walls the river may be the Derwent, not the Cocker as stated by Finberg. Turner must have been moving around the same clumps of trees shown on folios 17 and 18 (D07556, D07557).
