St Bees and St Bees Head are marked on Turner’s sketch map inside the front cover of the sketchbook (D07537). For other views of the coastline taken from the cliffs and the coast path see folios 37 and 38 (D07579, D07580), and for the priory, 35 and 36 (D07577, D07578). This view looks north to South Head, over the little town with its priory at right.
