This page contains three swift on-the-spot sketches depicting unidentified buildings amidst a hilly landscape. The rough nature of the draughtsmanship indicates that they were almost certainly executed from a moving vehicle on the road, possibly during Turner’s journey by road between Salerno and Paestum.
