The various landscape sketches on this page are too rough to be positively identified. However one may represent a distant view of Vesuvius (bottom left, parallel with left-hand edge), and another is inscribed ‘Gaeta’ (bottom right, parallel with right-hand edge), a town on the Tyrrhenian coast between Terracina and Formia on the nineteenth-century route between Rome and Naples.
