Between the small village of Marechiaro and the island of Nisida the Posillipo coastline is characterised by grottos and inlets, as well as a number of ancient Roman ruins such as the Palazzo degli Spiriti (Palace of the Spirits), the Villa of Publius Vedius Pollo and the so-called Scuola di Virgilo (School of Virgil). This page appears to contains sketches of some of these shoreline caves and ruins.
