A very slight, unfinished sketch. Turner had already drawn a similar view in watercolour (Tate D00002; Turner Bequest I B), perhaps partly copying a drawing by Paul Sandby; at any rate, this study was probably made later. There are other studies made at Nuneham in this book, on folios 10 recto, and 15 verso–16 recto (D00022, D40740, D00030).
